The laundry closets at 34 Crooke are done rather well I think. Many of the other buildings we looked at either didn't have laundry closets or they were done very badly (small, no tiled floor, no drain in the floor, unfinished walls etc.)
There are two things the laundry closets are lacking though, gas hook-ups and vents. This means you are going to have to get an electric dryer and figure out how to vent (water-box adapters are available but I've heard nothing but bad things about them.)
We have decided to get a condensation dryer that doesn't require venting. These dryers are designed for just these types of situations. We like the BOSCH Axxis units. There is a BOSCH Showroom located in DUMBO where you can take a look at them, ask questions and get literature.

It has been soooo difficult to find the right size models to use. I think that was be a great idea as well..

I'm going to get them drom EXPERT APPLIANCE on Court Street - their price is $2069 for the washer & dryer, $75 for the stacking kit and $150 for delivery AND installation.

I'll have to check Expert Appliance out I don't know them, I'd only been online shopping. Did you talk to them about a group discount? I'd think if we were ordering a few, at the very least we wouldn't have to pay multiple delivery charges?
I talked to them and they said they can't discount the price any more than this - all they can do is offer free laundry soap... HAHA
I still think it's a great price.
I'm considering the Bosch too, I wish the 2 in 1 would work, but the drying time is just insane!
we're going to order from US appliance, they're doing the axxis plus washer and dryer including the stacking kit tray AND delivery for $2077. Plus they say if there are a group of us who decide to group our delivery they could give us an additional discount! We're planning to order probably between the 1st and 2nd week of May, if anyone else is interested post and we can organize something.
