So what's the deal at 34 Crooke? It seems that for some reason the gas still isn't turned on which means no hot water (or heat or working stoves.) Commenters here have been discussing the roof deck (or lack thereof) and I too would like to know - is there going to be a roof deck or not? If so, where are the plans? How big will it be? The CORCORAN site says, "...even a common roof deck complete with outdoor showers and views of the park!" Well I don't see any deck, I can't see the park too well and I sure as heck don't see any outdoor showers!
Some people have said that the gym equipment has arrived and is waiting to be set up and that the furniture for the lounge is on the way. I can't verify any of this, I just hope it's true. I'm glad that there has been so much discussion going on in the comments section of this blog. I appreciate people sending information when they have it. I'm sure that we are all looking forward to moving in and getting settled. Let's hope that all these last minute issues are almost resolved and that everything will be ready soon.
I'd also like to remind people of something that I would hope is obvious: this blog in NOT an official source of information. I've tried to post data from the DOB website and other publicly available sources but I don't have any special inside sources. I'm grateful that other's have passed along what they've been told or have seen and hope that everyone will continue to post info on the comments section of these posts.
There is an open house this Sunday from Noon to 1PM, maybe we should all go see for ourselves what the deal is...

I think that's a great idea. We can also compare notes on the list of things to be completed to go in our closing contracts. See you there!
I also think that is a great idea. But to be honest the realtor who is there is a yes woman. She will yes you to death. So I am not sure if we will get anywhere with her. But maybe they will be working on the building on Sunday and possible ask some of the workers.
I saw some of the furniture coming in this morning.
I don't think we should talk to the realtor she knows nothing, and makes up the answers she thinks you want to hear. I think it would be good just to meet amongst ourselves and compare notes prior to closing.
I went to the open house today and the roof deck is being built folks. The gym equipment is in the gym (still in boxes) and we have very nice furniture in the lobby. the gas meters are still not installed. overall things seem to be moving along. the one other contract holder i met there was very nice and i'm really looking forward to meeting the rest of you.
I'd love to get together with sometime soon. I wasn't able to go today, but maybe next week? Has anyone closed yet? Looking forward to meeting all of you as well.
