Yesterday we finally went to The Farm on Adderley for brunch. According to their website the name:
“The Farm on Adderley” is an expression that means something is a long shot.
It originates from Cape Town, South Africa.
We've been wanting to try this place for quite a while - we heard all good things about it and so we were quite eager to give it a try. We were not disappointed. The food and service were great. I had the burger with cheddar and bacon and fries - really good. My only complaints would be that the english muffin that the burger is served on can't quite hold itself together with such a sizable burger on it. It was also rare, not medium rare as I ordered it but all in all I would rank it very high on my extensive, fifteen year plus quest to find the best burgers in NYC.
We also had the "Fisherman's Eggs" - latkes (potato pancake) topped with salad, smoked trout, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. This was excellent and we would definitely order it again.
Someone else at our table ordered french toast and said, "this is the best french toast I ever had in my life!" I didn't try them but maybe I'll get that next time...
The Farm is about a 10 to 15 minute walk from 34 Crooke and is located at 1108 Cortelyou Road 718-287-3101.
Sorry - no pictures, next time...
